Simply examine the insect’s antennae, wings, and abdomen. Termites have straight antennae, a uniform abdomen, and their wings—when they have them—are of equal length on both sides. Flying ants have bent antennae, an abdomen with three distinct sections, and a long and a short wing on each side.
